Hutson Talent Agency

Background & Extras Casting

Film and TV productions in Hampton Roads and across Virginia regularly need background talent. Join our casting list and we'll reach out when a project matches you. It's free.

Signing up for: ★ CASTING NOW · AUG 9 (4 days) · PETER BALE SHOW & MAGAZINE OFFICE EMPLOYEES — America's Favorite - Background

This also puts you on our standing background list, so we can call you for future days.

Fields marked * are required — including a recent photo, a phone number we can text, and Shoe size plus at least one clothing size, which is what wardrobe departments ask for first.

Full name * Email *

We'll send a link to confirm this address. Nothing is added to our casting list until it's clicked. Signing up someone under 18? Use the parent or guardian's email here — that's who we'll contact.

Are you 18 or older? *

Yes, I'm 18 or older No, I'm under 18

Signing up someone under 18? Choose "No" and a parent or legal guardian completes the section below — not the child.

Signing up someone under 18? Open this — a parent or legal guardian has to complete it.

Under-18s are welcome on the background list. We contact the parent or guardian, never the child, and a guardian has to be with them on set.

Parent/guardian full name * Relationship to them * Parent/guardian phone * I am the parent or legal guardian of the person named above, they are under 18, and I consent to them joining the Hutson background/extras list. I understand Hutson will contact ME, not them, and that being on the list is not an offer of work.

Adult's phone *

Background bookings go out by text, often the day before, so we need a number we can reach you on. Signing up a child? Choose "No" above and give the parent/guardian phone in the guardian section instead.

City * State * Union status *

Productions book background as union or non-union, so this decides which calls you can be submitted for. Non-union is completely normal — most background work is.

Gender * Age range you play *

The range you could realistically be cast as on camera. For babies and children, choose their current age range.

Ethnicities Able to Portray (optional)

Select all that visually apply for casting purposes. This is about what you can play on camera, not your personal identity. Leave it blank if you'd rather not say — nothing here is required.

Sizes

Background is wardrobe-driven work — productions ask for these before they book anyone. We need a shoe answer and at least one clothing size; for a baby who does not wear shoes yet, choose that option from the list.

Wardrobe you own

Tick anything you own that could match a call — this just helps us match you to specific bookings. You will be given specific wardrobe instructions per booking. Do not bring extra changes unless requested.

Availability

Car (year, make, model, colour) (optional)

Productions pay extra to use your car on camera.

Anything else we should know? (optional) Recent photo *

Required — background is booked on your look, so we cannot put you forward without one. A clear, recent photo of your face; a phone selfie in good light is fine and it does not need to be a professional headshot. Up to 10MB.

Being on this list doesn't guarantee work. Questions? support@hutsontalent.agency · hutsontalent.agency
